Environmental Policy

O’Neill Vintners & Distillers (O’Neill) is a producer of premium brands, bulk wine, brandy, and spirits for the beverage alcohol trade. O’Neill winery operations in Parlier, CA (Reedley) and Paso Robles, CA (Robert Hall) shall produce products that meet internal and customer quality expectations while operating in an environmentally sustainable and responsible manner. O’Neill’s management team is committed to implementing an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) to accomplish our business objectives while fulfilling our environmental responsibility.
To minimize our environmental impact concerning our activities, products, and services, O’Neill shall:
- Conduct business in such a way that environmental challenges are managed as an integral part of current and changing business strategies;
- Comply with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations and laws and maintain our compliance commitments and obligations;
- Review each aspect of our activities to develop a complete understanding of their actual and potential environmental impact both within our operational sites as well as to our neighbors surrounding these sites;
- Determine and implement control methods to ensure the potential for negative environmental impacts from our operations are limited;
- Promote the reduction of waste, minimize the consumption of resources, and pollution prevention;
- Monitor and track over time the consumption of resources and activities that may have an environmental impact from our operation.
- Pursue sustainability initiatives that promote zero waste and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
O’Neill Vintners & Distillers has adopted a goal to continuously improve the reduction of remaining residue that goes to landfills or incinerators by at least 1% of baseline disposal each year. New targets for reduction will be re-evaluated annually in the first quarter. O’Neill is committed to continuous improvement addressing WTE disposal, zero waste initiatives, Environmentally Preferred Purchasing (EPP), and other sustainability-based business principles. These policies include but are not limited to:
- Preference for durable goods.
- Preference for sustainably produced paper and wood products.
- Preference for used, refurbished and/or remanufactured goods over new items.
- Preference for vendors that align with our sustainability goals and initiatives.
- Preference for digital systems that reduce O’Neill’s impact on paper consumption.
- Preference for EPP items.
