Envi­ron­men­tal Policy

O’Neill Vint­ners & Dis­tillers (O’Neill) is a pro­duc­er of pre­mi­um brands, bulk wine, brandy, and spir­its for the bev­er­age alco­hol trade. O’Neill win­ery oper­a­tions in Par­li­er, CA (Reed­ley) and Paso Rob­les, CA (Robert Hall) shall pro­duce prod­ucts that meet inter­nal and cus­tomer qual­i­ty expec­ta­tions while oper­at­ing in an envi­ron­men­tal­ly sus­tain­able and respon­si­ble man­ner. O’Neill’s man­age­ment team is com­mit­ted to imple­ment­ing an effec­tive Envi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Sys­tem (EMS) to accom­plish our busi­ness objec­tives while ful­fill­ing our envi­ron­men­tal responsibility. 

To min­i­mize our envi­ron­men­tal impact con­cern­ing our activ­i­ties, prod­ucts, and ser­vices, O’Neill shall:

  1. Con­duct busi­ness in such a way that envi­ron­men­tal chal­lenges are man­aged as an inte­gral part of cur­rent and chang­ing busi­ness strategies;
  2. Com­ply with all local, state, and fed­er­al envi­ron­men­tal reg­u­la­tions and laws and main­tain our com­pli­ance com­mit­ments and obligations; 
  3. Review each aspect of our activ­i­ties to devel­op a com­plete under­stand­ing of their actu­al and poten­tial envi­ron­men­tal impact both with­in our oper­a­tional sites as well as to our neigh­bors sur­round­ing these sites;
  4. Deter­mine and imple­ment con­trol meth­ods to ensure the poten­tial for neg­a­tive envi­ron­men­tal impacts from our oper­a­tions are limited; 
  5. Pro­mote the reduc­tion of waste, min­i­mize the con­sump­tion of resources, and pol­lu­tion prevention;
  6. Mon­i­tor and track over time the con­sump­tion of resources and activ­i­ties that may have an envi­ron­men­tal impact from our operation. 
  7. Pur­sue sus­tain­abil­i­ty ini­tia­tives that pro­mote zero waste and con­tin­u­ous improve­ment of the Envi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Sys­tem (EMS).

O’Neill Vint­ners & Dis­tillers has adopt­ed a goal to con­tin­u­ous­ly improve the reduc­tion of remain­ing residue that goes to land­fills or incin­er­a­tors by at least 1% of base­line dis­pos­al each year. New tar­gets for reduc­tion will be re-eval­u­at­ed annu­al­ly in the first quar­ter. O’Neill is com­mit­ted to con­tin­u­ous improve­ment address­ing WTE dis­pos­al, zero waste ini­tia­tives, Envi­ron­men­tal­ly Pre­ferred Pur­chas­ing (EPP), and oth­er sus­tain­abil­i­ty-based busi­ness prin­ci­ples. These poli­cies include but are not lim­it­ed to:

  1. Pref­er­ence for durable goods.
  2. Pref­er­ence for sus­tain­ably pro­duced paper and wood products.
  3. Pref­er­ence for used, refur­bished and/​or reman­u­fac­tured goods over new items.
  4. Pref­er­ence for ven­dors that align with our sus­tain­abil­i­ty goals and initiatives.
  5. Pref­er­ence for dig­i­tal sys­tems that reduce O’Neill’s impact on paper consumption.
  6. Pref­er­ence for EPP items.
